Good Times AI (gtAI) is an iOS app and an AI companion helping couples become relationship jedi’s and overcome 50% divorce rate through communication advice & voice training. Pronounces ‘jeh·tai’
For gtAI, I did UX research, validated hypothesis, designed IA, user flows, notes for visual identity, low & high fidelity prototypes, and dynamic CAI prompts for a concept of an iOS app, in 8 weeks.
Problem statement
In May 2022, like millions others, I watched Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard trial broadcasted for the whole wide world to see. This raw & honest exploration of an intimate relationship between the two people hit home. Literally. My parents’ explosive relationship, growing up, is a childhood memory it took me a couple of decades to unpack (thanks, therapy!)
Part of the deposition in court were private recordings, made on Heard’s phone. This live, unedited data, played and analyzed in public, made me wonder if people could manage their relationships in a safer, more nuanced and effective way by “owning” one of their most powerful and underutilized instruments, their very own voice.
Combined with communication tactics, clarity tips, cool-down strategies (hello AI:) and biomarkers to predict conflict biologically (because we can), this could not only make a massive difference in people’s lives, it could save some, too.
So in October 2022, right before the onset of the new era in CAI, I decided to design a prototype for an AI-powered pocket therapist that helps people manage their conflict, through speech.
